Casa Binimelis Barahona designed by Polidura and Talhouk
November 9th, 2008 - Posted in Architecture projects, Residential architectureThe commission consisted of a shelter for a married couple with two children, located in an area of 950 m2 in Block Reserve in Chicureo commune Hill.
The ground conditions which had three operations that define the project. Being a triangular field corner and, in implementing the building to be built on an area left of center field. A steep slope of approximately 40% and finally, the soleamiento and orientation of views towards the valley.
The operation is to separate the program into two volumes above the other, located parallel to the direction of the benchmark so that in court, the two bodies have a bearing on the ground.
The volume is buried below the ground and takes a materiality which enables it to understand it as a base mimic the ground and the pircas stone enclosing the lot. It contains the dormitories that are way out of a garden that sits above street level below.
The volume that is placed over the previous, more abstract as possible, aims to differentiate themselves from the field and the socket. For this work is a very pure geometry and is all in one material with an industrial court and a neutral color (gray slate stone). The breakdown of this body responds to avoid hearings into the quarry to concentrate all towards the valley.
This volume houses more public spaces and exit to a patio at the top of the street through a single, large vain.
