The Peninsula Residence was the work of Thomas Bercy and Calvin Chen under the flag Bercy Chen Studio LP. Thomas Bercy and Calvin Chen are Texas-based architects who eager to grow work that combine sensitivity to local context with an inventive use of resources. This Peninsula Residence was one of the representations of their ideal platform in architectural vision they have been maintained. The project was a challenge to develop a susceptible and creative result from a pre-existing condition of a 1980’s house fronting on Lake Austin. Through the use of refined detailing of the exterior materials such as the roof structure, glass, and steel, the home had been adaptively reinvented.
