The Universe House an be the incarnation of a complex cultural and aesthetical vision. Stefano Boeri and Gabriel Orozco discuss about how the observatory-house of Roca Blanca became a tool for knowledge. Architectural photographer Iwan Baan recently shot the Universe House, designed by Mexican artist Gabriel Orozco and built by architect Tatiana Bilbao in Roca Blanca, Mexico.

The Berman House was designed by Harry Seidler and Associates in 1996 and completed in 1999. Built in virgin contryside, the house is placed against a rock cliff with a suspended living area and projecting balcony overlooking the natural setting. A dam wall between two rock cliffs creates a deep natural swimming pool.

Movement thorough the house is along the continuous grade wall. While anchoring the structure to the site, The wall provides privacy and form for two lightweight glazed pavilion.A series of gal vanished steel portal frames express a legibility of structure and a lightness that contrasts with the solidity of masonry.
