Spatially, three linear zones provide separate pavilion accommodation for sleeping, living and services and are further articulated into three distinct but connected volumes. Cantilevered decks and steps hover over the landscape lightly, projecting sun awnings provided deep shade in summer and dynamic floating roof planes and generous overhangs respond to adjoining natural vegetation to bring the outside in. The lightweight clad pavilions are anchored to the site with exposed stack bonded masonry spine walls.

The home is organized around three main structural block walls that cantilever to support the upper level floor, and also provide a rhythm of structural elements along the main circulation route.
Building height restrictions lowered the ceiling height beneath the upper level spaces, which is reinforced with the use of exposed timber beams.

With one window facing Fifth Avenue and the remainder of the space oriented north to buildings across the street, the apartment is divided into two defined zones, living and service, that are connected by a link that could not be enlarged.

The church space has been re-organised to increase seating capacity and a new lounge, kitchen, office and meeting rooms added.
