Belyea Faigin residence is located between Ballard and Phinney Ridge. The house is a home for an artist Gary Faigin, his wife and their two children. Originally it had been an 1936 year’s building that was accompanied by a new three story, 1600 square feet addition. The lowest level is Gary’s studio, the middle level is the living/dining room and the top floor is a new master suite.

Thomas Bercy and Calvin Chen are Texas-based architects who eager to grow work that combine sensitivity to local context with an inventive use of resources. This Peninsula Residence was one of the representations of their ideal platform in architectural vision they have been maintained. The project was a challenge to develop a susceptible and creative result from a pre-existing condition of a 1980’s house fronting on Lake Austin. Through the use of refined detailing of the exterior materials such as the roof structure, glass, and steel, the home had been adaptively reinvented.
