Christina Zerva Born in Larissa, Greece in 1957. Graduated from Elkton high school in Oregon, United States of America in 1974. Studied at Technische Hochschule University of Innsbruck from 1975 to 1976 and at Thames Polytecknic from 1976 to 1977. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade, in 1984. She created her studio Christina Zerva in 1991.Her architecture seeks to reduce waste of energy, water and materials. By taking advantage of a system of holistic design using technologies, methods and products which not only protect your health and the world around you, but actually enhance the spiritual, emotional, and mental quality of your daily experience.

Belyea Faigin Residence by Johnston Architects

Belyea Faigin residence is located between Ballard and Phinney Ridge. The house is a home for an artist Gary Faigin, his wife and their two children. Originally it had been an 1936 year’s building that was accompanied by a new three story, 1600 square feet addition. The lowest level is Gary’s studio, the middle level is the living/dining room and the top floor is a new master suite.

These sliding doors open on both sides to completely dissolve house into landscape.Below, a long swimming pool, reflecting the residence, is inset into the hill above the valley. The house is simple in shape and grand in scale. The single line of the building, with its rhythmic columns, provides measure to the backdrop of nature. Transparent and reflective surfaces contain and expand.
