The site was an empty pre-existing slope bounded by 2 magnificent stone walls of containment that defined a level of 12 x10 meters, 7.5 meters below the level of access. In turn, highlighted some trees, a well known for the aridity of the Andes.

A single copper construction was created amidst the diversity of back façades with their richness of extensions. The copper was applied in folded horizontal lengths. Façade openings on the first floor and the balcony above can be completely closed off with hardwood shutters. In addition to the two-storey house extension, the interior was also completely rebuild. All rooms can be accessed from an open, spacious stairwell in the centre of the house.

The design for the office building is the result of a limited competion by the investor cogiton in 2006. the building site is situated at the intersection between the hamburg’s lively downtown and its urban landscape rich in water and mature trees.
